+ TAKE is on every row in the feed now.
tap it and the composer opens right there, so you can post without losing your place.
you can also paste a Spotify or YouTube link there and it goes out as a reply-with-song under that drop.
on phones, the chip got a bigger tap target too.

WhatsApp digest now starts with the top drop
if you're in the B-Sides WhatsApp group, the 10 pm IST digest looks a little different now. it starts with the #1 song poster, and the chart text rides as the caption.
the nightly B-Sides WhatsApp digest used to land as plain text.
now the first thing in the post is the share card for the top drop, with the full chart sitting in the caption below it.
same chart, just easier to clock at a glance.

Rooms that feel like the room
When someone brings a song, they bring a story. Now the page knows that. Each person's reason sits at reading size, above the track they chose. Not a playlist with footnotes. A room.
Stories render at reading scale — big enough to actually feel, not footnote-sized.
Each person's handle is the chapter header. You know who is speaking before you read.
Everyone who RSVP'd with a song is in the main feed — no more split 'also in the room' section.
Song links from the RSVP form are matched against the library for artwork and streaming.
Play the room queues the whole night in one press.

Search — find anything, fast
Type a song or artist. The whole archive answers back. ⌘K opens it from anywhere.
Full-text search across every drop in the archive. Song title, artist name — one box, instant results. Hit ⌘K from anywhere to open it.

The queue, open
A panel that shows the full tracklist, where you are, and what’s next. Click any track to jump to it. Your keyboard and headphone media keys work now. The room plays front-to-back.
Queue panel sits above the player bar — open it with the tracklist icon on the right.
Click any track to jump to it immediately.
Forward/back media keys (⏮ ⏭) on your keyboard and headphones now work.
Now Playing metadata syncs to your OS — title, artist, artwork in your lock screen.

A proper welcome
New here? The welcome screen sets the tone. What sideb is, why it matters, then straight to your first drop.
First-time visitors now get a proper welcome. The /welcome flow introduces what sideb is, why hand-picked matters, and gets you signed in before your first drop.
No tour popups, no tooltips. One screen, the right words, then you're in.

Share cards on every drop
Tap share on any song and a poster goes straight to your story. Drop of the day, first-found credit, milestone moments — every find now has a face you can post.
Three card types render live as images:
• First-found credit (square)
• Milestone moments (square)
• Drop of the day (feed + story)
Share button is on the song page, the row menu, and the curator profile. On mobile, tap it and your story opens with the image already loaded.

When your find moves, you'll know
You drop a song. Someone votes, tags it, or it crosses a milestone — a quiet ping lets you know. Nothing noisy. Just the moments that matter.
Three triggers wired up: a vote on your find, a tag on your find, and engagement milestones (5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250). Inbox bell in the header for in-app, email for the bigger ones.

- 23 APRIL 2026
Filter by the moment, not the genre
Genre tells you nothing about how a song fits your night. Moments do. Filter for late drives, post-breakup, kitchen-floor wins — find what fits where you are.
A small fixed set of moments, picked by hand. Not infinite tags, not LLM slop. Just the few that actually map to how people listen.

Old gold, surfaced again
When someone drops a track that was already in the pool, it doesn't just dedupe quietly. It comes up as a rediscovery — a sign that this one keeps coming back to people.
Rediscovery shows on the row. The original surfacer keeps their credit; the rediscoverer gets credit too. Songs that resurface are themselves a signal.

/listen — every find in one feed
A unified place to scan everything that's been surfaced lately. Today's drop, the long tail, all in one scroll.
/listen is the consolidated feed. /archive and /playlist now both redirect there. One surface, one mental model.

- 18 APRIL 2026
Spotify and YouTube only, for now
We pulled Bandcamp out. Most playback was failing silently and that's not a feature. Two providers that just work beat three that don't.
Existing Bandcamp finds stay in the database — they're not gone — but new submissions only accept Spotify and YouTube links. We'll bring it back if and when playback is reliable.

- 15 APRIL 2026
One stream, no hero
The chart is now a stream. Newest finds at the top, your composer right where you'd expect it. Less staging. More music.
Home was a hero card and a leaderboard. Now it's a clean chronological stream with the composer at the top.
If you're here, you're here to hunt or to drop. Both jobs are one tap away.

- 12 APRIL 2026
Reply with a song
Heard one and instantly thought of another? Paste it as a reply. Threads now read like a conversation, not a feed.
Every song page now has a composer. Paste a Spotify or YouTube link and it lands as a reply — chained to the parent, surfaced on both pages.
The accidental playlist forms by itself.

Save it. Tag how it hit you.
Save anything that lands. Then drop a feeling on it — devastating, blueprint, anthem. The tag tells the next person why it's worth their three minutes.
Two changes that go together:
• "On Repeat" became Save. One verb, one place, anything you want to come back to.
• Taste tags are open. Pick how a track hit you and others see it on the row.
Less ceremony. More signal.

Today, surfaced in IST
New finds land at the start of the day, not when servers feel like flipping over. Today's drop is your day, in your time zone.
Drop dates now follow Indian Standard Time. Whether you open the app first thing or after dinner, "today" means today — not last night.
